Now is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the new government energy tax credit. The American Recovery and Investment Act of 2009, signed by President Obama, provides for a 30 percent or up to $1,500 tax credit for purchasing up to $5,000 in new energy efficient windows. The windows must be energy star rated with a u-factor of .30 or less and a solar heat gain of .30 or less. Tri-State’s windows easily meet these standards. Although many companies claim their windows have a low r-factor, this is an insulation measurement and has nothing’ to do with the efficiency of their windows. Tri-State Window Factory manufacture, right here on Long Island, the highest quality and most efficient windows in the business. Under the same tax credit provision in the American Recovery and Investment Act, purchasers of Tri-state’s vinyl siding also receive a 30 percent tax credit off the insulation costs. For windows with both elegance and efficiency, Tri-State Window Factory is the manufacturer of choice, providing windows and installation to customers throughout Long Island and the five boroughs. “Windows should provide maximum insulation along with the decorative elements a homeowner desires,” says john Kypreos, president of Tri-State. Tri-State’s windows are made with triple-pane glass. Two of the three panes are high performance lowe glass that blocks ultra violet rays. This protects furniture from discoloring and provides maximum energy savings, year round, including keeping the house cooler from summer AC usage. The frame is filled with environmentally safe foam insulation, the same foam used to insulate coolers and refrigerators. “In critical areas where windows have the most movement, we have installed a rust-proof aluminum reinforced frame so windows don’t warp, buckle, or bow. Tri-state’s vinyl windows are reinforced with aluminum to control expansion, warping, and buckling. They also have an automatic power locking system so you don’t have to worry if you forget to lock your windows,” he said. They also have a sloped seal on the outside of the windows for water drainage. Tri-State windows are also known for saving energy. john explains that TriState’s windows carry the Energy Star label from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE), along with the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) label to certify their efficiency. “These labels give homeowners the opportunity to know what products offer the best efficiency for their homes. The lower the u-factor, the higher the efficiency. Tri-State’s super high performance, double-hung and slider windows carry a u-factor of 16. “Our casement windows have a u-factor of 17, which is the lowest u-factor in the country,” he says. “Our high efficiency performance windows save enough on home heating and air conditioning to pay for themselves.” Energy usage and design are the key essentials to Tri-State Window Factory’s mission. “We are very proud that our windows are rated #1 for maximum efficiency,” john boasts. High marks, as well as a decorative variety of window options, makes Tri-State Windows the clear choice for new windows.
